LFNEDC launches annual Achievement Recognition Awards program for Grade 7-11 students in Lytton, BC.

The Lytton First Nations Economic Development Corporation has launched an annual Achievement Recognition Awards program for Grade 7-11 students attending either the Kumsheen ShchEma-meet School or the Stein Valley Nlakapamux School in Lytton, BC.
The Achievement Recognition Awards are designed to formally recognize and celebrate individuals who demonstrate outstanding performance and character in the areas of: 

• Academic Achievement 
• Athletic Excellence 
• Leadership & Community Contribution 

“The program aims to encourage excellence, integrity, and positive role modelling within the community”, stated Troy Abromaitis, Board Co-Chair of LFNEDC. “We’re pleased to bring this to the community and thank the Board for their support and direction for this initiative”, stated Abromaitis.

General eligibility criteria
To be eligible, nominees must: 

• Be a registered student of one of the two High schools in Lytton in Grades 7-11 (Kumsheen ShchEma-meet or Stein Valley Nlakapamux School). 
• Demonstrate good standing within the community. 
• Meet the specific criteria outlined for the applicable award category. 
• Provide supporting documentation (transcripts, letters of reference, etc.). 
• Consent to public recognition of their achievement. 

How to apply:
Nominee forms can be downloaded from www.lfnedc.com/awards, and the application deadline is May 30 th , 2026. Awards announcements will be made June 11 th . Completed applications can be emailed to john@lfnedc.com or dropped off at the Lytton First Nations Band Office.
